Changes and Transformations

Why hello! It’s certainly been a while, hasn’t it? Please, pull up a chair and let me pour you a cup of tea. I must apologize for the lack of posts lately, but in truth there are a few good reasons for it. Simply put, we’ve been working on some significant changes that we’re rolling out in the next few months.

But first, let’s talk about what won’t be changing. Our flagship blog, Emerald Musings, with its reviews, rants, raves and great guest posts isn’t going anywhere. The great services from our writing, editing and design departments aren’t going away either.

One of the things that will be changing, however is the website itself. The Writers Thread has been steadily growing as a business, and we need a website that truly reflects what we do and who we are. So we’ve been working with Ailsa Rose, a great web designer from Mind Infoservices to design a fantastic new website that will better reflect our business as a whole. And yes, for those of you who are paying attention, this is the same Ailsa Rose that works closely with us on our design team. She really is that good!

Another area that will be changing is that our bookstore, and Showcase areas where we highlight some great fiction are moving to a new home. In December of 2018, our owner, Laura Seeber opened up a small publishing company, Antimony and Elder Lace Press. The focus there will be on mystery, speculative fiction and science based non-fiction, so samples from our bookstore and Showcase will fit in very well there indeed.

We’re in the process of putting together a great website for this new publishing company as well, so stay tuned for that in the next few months.

And finally, it’s with a sad heart that we need to inform our readers and clients that Ms. Holly Popovich, one of our most popular writers passed away in January. Her wit and passion made her a favorite among our clients, as well as her team members. She will be missed greatly, but we know that she is smiling at us and encouraging us just the same, wherever she is.
